This year’s 2nd Annual “Ride For Ronnie” kicks off on Sunday after last year’s successful inaugural Motorcycle Ride and Concert, benefiting the Ronnie James Dio Stand Up and Shout Cancer Fund, and it will be in Glendale this year. On site registration and continental breakfast starts at 9am at Harley-Davidson of Glendale. The ride is set to start at 11AM and will head over to Los Encinos Park in Encino, where all attending will be treated to a raffle, a live auction, various food and merchandise vendors with a day of totally rocking live music!
Actor Emilio Rivera (“Marcus Alvarez” on the “Sons of Anarchy” television series) will be leading a VIP pack of riders which includes “Sons of Anarchy” Michael Beach, Sean McNabb, as well as, Wendy Dio, co-founder-president of the Dio Cancer Fund, Lita Ford, KLOS‘ Frank Kramer of the “Heidi and Frank” morning show, and “Boston” Tom Foresteire. Tom Foresteire will ride his “Holy Diver” Harley-Davidson motorcycle. It is custom-painted with the illustration from the cover of Ronnie James Dio‘s iconic “Holy Diver” album he won at the recent Street Party that launched RIDE this year. There’s the added bonus of a couple of meet and greets during the day with Emilio Rivera, Gabbie Rae, Lita Ford and Great White for those attending the RIDE.
The concert commences after the RIDE at Los Encinos State Historic Park (16756 Moorpark Street Encino, CA 91436). The gates for the concert will open at 11:30 with live music provided by Ronnie’s former bandmates and friends, including: Great White, Lita Ford, Dio Disciples, Gabbie Rae, Budderside, Sonia Harley, and Doctors of the Earth. There will be raffle prizes, a live auction, gourmet food truck options by Slammin Sliders, G’s Tacos, and Archie’s Ice Cream. Quality beers by Ninkasi Brewing Company will be available on site, as well as wine and soft drinks to be offered by Solar Rain.
There are a variety of ticket options. You can also donate to the cause if you can’t attend this year’s RIDE. General Admission is $20, a Rider is $30 and Rider with passenger is $20. All the details and ticket purchasing info can be found here. 100% of the net proceeds from the “Ride For Ronnie” will go to the Dio Cancer Fund. Last year’s “Ride For Ronnie” raised $155,000 to fight cancer.
