Tim Burton’s “Nightmare Before Christmas” is one of those rare movies where absolutely everything comes together–the music, the animation, the casting of the voice actors—everything. The movie appeals to a wide range of fans and immediately garnered a cult-like following. The animated film has become so popular that Disneyland revamps their Haunted Mansion every year into a “Nightmare Before Christmas” theme.
For the second year in a row, Danny Elfman will be performing the soundtrack live as the film screens, accompanied by a full orchestra and choir led by John Mauceri. Danny Elfman not only voices the lead character, the ennui-driven Jack Skellington, but also Barrel, one of the trio of mischevious trick-or-treaters. Even more exciting, Catherine O’Hara will reprise her role as Sally, Jack Skellington’s rag doll love interest who is always falling apart at the seams. She also voiced naughty trick-or-treater Shock. Add Paul Reubens as Lock and Broadway performer Ken Page as the villain, Oogie Boogie and you have the whole cast!
