LA Magazine’s Food Event Returns to Malibu with Fine Food and Llamas October 16

food event 2 136There is no location as beautiful as the bucolic Saddlerock Ranch, and no experience better suited to the environment than Los Angeles magazine’s “The Food Event.” Between 2pm and 5pm Sunday, October 16, you can enjoy unlimited tastings from some of LA’s best restaurants, plus pours from wineries, spirits, beer and chef demos. It provides an opportunity to sample bites from LA’s newest restaurants and see what your old favorites are up to.

This year, cooking demos will be presented by Brendan Collins of Birch, Marcel Vigneron of WOLF, Ted Hopson of The Bellwether, and Valerie Gordon of Valerie Confections. Some of our favorite participating restaurants include Jitlada, Little Sister, Love & Salt, Maple Block, Petty Cash, Playa Provisions, Scopa, and Terrine. It will also be a great chance to check out some young guns like Citizen, Ervin, and Cannibal. Cocktails will be provided by Hendrick’s Gin, Glenfiddich and Karma Tequila. Plus over 20 wineries will be pouring, and brews like Golden Road will be on tap.

Do wear flats so your heels don’t sink into the grass, and we recommend closed-toe shoes, because you may be parking in a pasture. It is a ranch. And yes, there are horses, and camels, and even zebras. Must be 21 and older. No pets allowed unless they are camels or zebras. Admission is $125 per person–admission includes all demonstrations, food, beverages, and parking fees. Purchase tickets here. There will be an after party at Calamigos Ranch for an additional $15. Proceeds benefit Kids Courage.
