Saturday, May 20th from 12pm – 9pm a new festival for the Instagram generation inspired by the hashtag #EEEEEATS will celebrate the convergence of good food and good music at Barker Hanger in Santa Monica. Infatuation is a foodie website and app that allows you to search their reviews for restaurants to fit your needs (e.g. date night, power lunch, healthy eating) as well as quality of food and service. Although they recently went global, they definitely have their finger on the pulse of what is happening in LA.
After curating vendors at music festivals for four years, the founders of Infatuation are gathering together more than 20 chefs for EEEEEATSCON from some of the best restaurants in LA and beyond, including our favorites Salazar, Baadmaash (Chicken Tikka Poutine!), Jon & Vinny’s, Sweetfin Poke, Nighthawk Breakfast Bar, Ramen Hood, and Nancy Silverton’s CHI Spacca (which will be serving Central Coastal Tritip — also known as Santa Maria BBQ) as well as introducing us to the upcoming Eataly outpost.
Headlining the music bill are NYC duo The Knocks, whose sound ranges from rap to funk to ethereal vocals, and soulful hip-hop chanteuse Lizzo. The dance floor should be hopping. Along with panels and keynotes, there will be an interview with Nancy Silverton and an interview with Shep Gordon, who, after launching the careers of the likes of Blondie and Alice Cooper started the concept of the celebrity chef with clients like Emeril Lagasse.
A general admission ticket ($40) gets you into the event where the restaurants will be selling food. There will also be a cash bar. Parking is $10 presale, $20 onsite. All ages. Rain or shine. Buy your tickets now!
