The 10th annual Monsterpalooza will be taking over the Pasadena Convention Center this weekend. Along with their anniversary they will be celebrating “A Century of Monster Makers.” You can expect live makeup demos, movies, a Monster Museum exhibition, and  celebrities of the horror genre. The convention center will be teeming with over 250 exhibitors, including Dapper Cadaver, Kryolan Professional Makeup, Trick or Treat Studios, and Hyaena Gallery, so bring lots of cash. You can meet stars of horror films spanning the last 50 years, as well as makeup artists, creature creators, and special effects wizards.

Panels, talks and presentations will be running all day Saturday and Sunday. Saturday topics include making the Planet of the Apes, FX artist Christopher Nelson, and a panel on Beetlejuice with one of our favorite people, Ve Neill. Saturday night will be the traditional monster bash, free with wristband. On Sunday, check out the panel on the new Puppet Master, Halloween Horror Nights, the Shape of Water, and take a special class on covering up tattoos.

The list of actors this year is unbelievable and includes  Daphne Zuniga, Doug Bradley from Hellraiser, Elvira, Ray Wise of Twin Peaks, Thomas Lennon, a favorite from Reno 911 who is the new Puppet Master, Fairuza Balk, Pam Grier, Danny Trejo, the terrifying Tobin Bell from Saw, the enigmatic Corey Feldman, and the queen of them all–Linda Blair! There is also be a mini-reunion of some of the rarely-seen cast members from The Rocky Horror Picture Show, Nell Campbell, Patricia Quinn and Barry Bostwick. Joining Kyra Schoen and Judith O’Dea of Night of the Living Dead is Judith Ridley.
