Katie Thiroux’s latest album, Off Beat
Acclaimed jazz bassist and vocalist Katie Thiroux will bring her trio to the Katy Geissert Civic Center Library, 3301 Torrance Bl, Torrance, CA 90503 an evening of live jazz starting at 7 p.m. this coming Wednesday, May 23, 2018.
Completing the trio are drummer Matt Witek and pianist Justin Kauflin. Generously sponsored by the Friends of the Torrance Library, the show is free and no registration is required. A native of Glendale and graduate of CSULB, Thiroux is a rising jazz star who has performed at prestigious events and venues worldwide, from the Monterey Jazz Festival to Birdland in New York and Q’s Bar and Lounge in Dubai, where she performed a two-month residency at the invitation of Quincy Jones. Ms. Thiroux’s latest album, Off Beat, was released in 2017 to raves from major publications including The New Yorker, Downbeat, and the Boston Globe.
