Thanks to the “community campaign,” Go Little Tokyo, there will be all kinds of festive fun happening in the historic downtown neighborhood for the holidays. In addition to the fantastic little shops and cool restaurants, the outdoor shopping plazas will feature mochi gift boxes at Fugetsu-do, and our favorite stocking stuffers, vintage-style toys available at Bunkado.
For the next two weekends, Saturday December 15th and Sunday December 16th, plus Saturday December 22nd and Sunday December 23rd, Shogun Santa’s Sleigh will stop in Little Tokyo. You can take a selfie or a holiday family photo for next year’s Christmas cards from 11 AM until 3 PM at Japanese Village Plaza. It is free to take photos, although donations are always appreciated.
Don’t forget to treat yourself to a warm, comforting bowl of udon from Marugame Monzoor or ramen from Daikokuya while you’re in the neighborhood. You can also bring a box of pastries or some Christmas Cake home from The Yamazaki Bakery.
