Los Angeles Magazine has published their 6th Annual Best New Restaurants list. Making the grade for 2018 are Wes Avila’s Guerilla Tacos, the super-buzzy Filipino spot, Ma’am Sir, David Chang’s Majordomo, Somni, an outpost of Spain’s modernist cuisine, Silver Lake’s first Jewish deli, Freedmans, Hippo, a California-Italian place run by two former Mozza chefs, the highly original Asian-flavored Porridge + Puffs, the upscale soul food of Alta Adams, and Bavel, a modern Middle Eastern eatery from the folks behind Bestia.
To celebrate, LA Magazine is hosting a strolling event Tuesday night in DTLA where you can enjoy small plates and cocktails from their list of top new restaurants, as well as some returning honorees. Other participating restaurants include LA Beat favorite Bellwether, Kali, South Bay locals Love & Salt, and Chef Steve Samson’s Italian food mecca, Rossoblu.
