The Hypnotic Electro-Beat Sound of ModPods

All photos: Deb Frazin

Modpods is one of my favorite local bands, and this past week they played two killer shows; one at Church of Fun, and the other one at The Redwood Bar. In Deb Frazin’s world, that’s called a “Double-Whammy”.

Myriad Slits handles the vocals, while Daniel Guzman and Mindee Jorgensen (also of The Dale Crover Band) continuously trade off drums, guitar and bass throughout the set (mixin’ it up to keep things fresh – I dig that). This talented trio plays raw, hypnotic, electronic post-punk with beats. Their songs are captivating and unforgettable, and after you see them, I guarantee you that you’ll want to see them again as soon as possible. Check out the photos and video that I recorded especially for YOU!
