Taste of the Eastside Returns to the Los Angeles River Center and Gardens April 28, 2019!

We attend a lot of food festivals throughout the year, and Taste of the Eastside is one of our very favorites. The tents are spread out across three shaded courtyards so it’s not one big crowd, and there is the babbling of a fountain and a wide expanse of green lawn to spread out a blanket. This year the event will be taking place on Sunday, April 28th, 2019 with VIP admission starting at 3:00 pm and GA admission at 4:00 pm. There is a strong neighborhood vibe to the family friendly event, like it’s just a local block party. It makes sense, considering Taste of the Eastside (TOTE) is a fundraiser started by a group of parents to raise money for Rose Scharlin Cooperative Nursery School.

The annual fundraiser brings together the best restaurants from Silver Lake, Los Feliz, Atwater Village, Echo Park, Downtown, Highland Park, Eagle Rock and beyond, both old and new. Participants this year include Fat Dragon, Diablo Taco + Cantina, Eagle Rock Brewery Public House, Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams, Little Dom’s, fresh poke favorite, Sweetfin, Same Same Thai, and Pine and Crane’s newest sister restaurant, JOY on York Blvd., You can also tipple Silver Lake Wines, signature cocktails from Mohawk Bend and Greenbar Craft Distillery as well as refreshing beer from the likes of Eagle Rock Brewing, El Segundo Brewing Co., and Frogtown Brewery.

Entertainment will include KCRW DJ favorites Raul Campos and Garth Trinidad, who will be spinning tunes for all music lovers, in addition to live music from Pretzel Logic and more bands to be announced.

All proceeds from Taste of the Eastside will be donated to The Pablove Foundation, and F.O.L.A.R. Friends of the LA River as well as Rose Scharlin Cooperative Nursery School, TOTE continues to be an environmentally friendly festival by making an effort to compost, recycle and reduce waste wherever possible. The General Admission tickets are kept at a reasonable $50 by having alcohol sold separately. Kids Ages 2 – 12 are only $15. You can also purchase a VIP tickets that offer three drink tickets, early entry to event at 3 pm, exclusive VIP gift bag, and priority parking (2:45-4 pm) for $85 or $30 for kids.
