The emphemeral supergroup known as Hollywood Vampires – made up of Alice Cooper, Aerosmith’s Joe Perry and P’s Johnny Depp on guitars, Guns N Roses drummer Matt Sorum and bassist Duff McKagan – will be making a rare appearance outside of their preferred environs, the packed, sweaty small club where it’s impossible for most of the people who want to get in, to actually do so. So if you have ever found yourself cursing fate for denying you one of the coveted tickets to their 2015 Roxy debut – which, as we reported, turned out to be one hell of a shindig – then get yourself to the Greek this weekend. There are likely to be some cover songs you know from people who also partied a lot back in the 70s – that really narrows the list, I know. There will also be some Alice Cooper songs, and we sure can’t complain about having that guy around in 2019, master of ceremonies for a set that will celebrate not just his own work but his pals’ for one night.
Hollywood Vampires at the Greek Theater, Saturday May 11. Tickets, $29.50 to $150, at Ticketmaster.
