After 30 years of bringing food to the health-conscious in Woodland Hills, fast-casual eatery Health Nut is beginning to expand, with a  second location just opened on July 27 in Sherman Oaks.

Here you’ll find delicious, simple, fresh-tasting dishes — think an assortment of salads, wraps, noodle dishes, and smoothies.

An assortment of vegan and gluten-free options are offered here. The salad dressings are all made in house and are so popular that they’re also available to purchase by the bottle. It all tastes very fresh, as the produce is delivered daily and the lettuce is shredded on the premises, by hand, each and every day.

During a preview, I particularly enjoyed the Deluxe Salad with Tuna, heaping with mozzarella, tomatoes, carrots, cucumbers, sunflower seeds and a very clean-tasting tuna salad, along with the iced mango green tea. I also liked the veggie-laden spring rolls with spicy Asian dressing and the tuna avocado sandwich.

Other menu options include the noodle soup (rice noodles, avocado, spinach and pickled ginger), the salmon poke bowl, an organic quinoa salad on a bed of lettuce and kale, and an Arnold Palmer variation, the Amanda Palmer, made with green iced tea and lemonade.

Health Nut is located at 4550 Van Nuys Blvd., between Ventura Blvd. and the Ventura Freeway in Sherman Oaks. The phone number is 818-386-8256 and hours are 10:30am to 8:30pm Mondays through Saturdays (closed on Sundays). Restaurant website
