LA Loves Alex’s Lemonade, taking place on Saturday, September 14, 2019 at the Royce Quad at UCLA, has a special place in our hearts. This annual event, now in its 10th year, carries on the spirit of Alexandria “Alex” Scott, a little girl with cancer whose front yard lemonade stand grew into a foundation that raised over a million dollars during her lifetime. The day has a family vibe; children 12 and under get in free, chefs bring their children, and the event invites children battling cancer to attend.
Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF) now organizes food events around the country in her name. Hosted by Chef Suzanne Goin, Caroline Styne (The Lucques Group) and David Lentz, LA Loves Alex‘s Lemonade is one of the biggest events, with world-renowned chefs and mixologists coming together to raise money for children’s cancer research. Supporters attending this year will include Jimmy Kimmel, Joe Mantegna, Timothy Olyphant, Laura Dern, Nolan Gould, Camilla Belle and Kirsten Vangsness.
Featured chefs include local legends Nancy Silverton, Steve Samson, Jon Shook, Vinny Dotolo, Chris Bianco, Jeremy Fox, David LeFevre, Neal Fraser, Josiah Citrin, Ludo Lefebvre, Michael Cimarusti, Ray Garcia, Sherry Yard, Steve Samson – Rossoblu, Suzanne Tracht, Timothy Hollingsworth, Walter & Margarita Manzke, Zoe Nathan, and guest chefs of San Francisco, Nancy Oakes from San Francisco, Donald Link from New Orleans, Rocco Whalen of Cleveland, and Marc Vetri from Philadelphia.
Guests will enjoy wine tasting from over 50 vintners, as well as signature drinks from expert mixologists like Eric Alperin from The Varnish and Christiaan Röllich of The Lucques Group). The afternoon will also include children’s activities, a silent auction, and a very exciting live auction. LA Loves Alex’s will take place from 12:30 to 4:30 PM on Saturday, September 14, 2019. General Admission Tickets are $225, and V.I.P. tickets are $500, which include seating and early access to the event. Get in the spirit by wearing yellow and navy blue.
