Red Lion’s Oktoberfest party starts now with a month of surprises celebrating the famous German holiday, and the tradition is a festival of the senses. We got a lovely Groupon for sausages and beer for 2 for $18.99. The dishes served to us were the perfect serving size. Downstairs, they had great current American and German music on the jukebox.
A nontraditional pianist hosted a sing along ( he really did not want you to sing along). Sometimes Sylvia Moore does her Marlene Dietrich tribute there, and my favorite waitress, performance artist, Elle Mermaid serves up the yummy morsels. The staff is fun and considerate–danke very much.
I love the private room in the center where they show Nick Cave videos and such. Upstairs is light and airy with an amazing beer garden, and all the ladies wear Drindles, my personal favorite gear (Although I wish the hot guy serving them up downstairs was wearing Lederhosen).
