‘Black Hollywood Education and Resource Center’ Brings 25th Annual African American Film Festival and Shorts Showcase

Today through Sunday, October 23 – 27, 2019, the African American Film Market Place & S.E. Manly Short Film Showcase Live in Los Angeles.

The Black Hollywood Education and Resource Center (BHERC) is currently holding its 25th Annual African American Film Marketplace and S.E. Manly Short Film Showcase, now through Sunday, October 27, 2019.

The African American Film Marketplace and S.E. Manly Short Film Showcase creates a “platform for rising and established filmmakers from emerging voices, while exploring innovations in storytelling across film, television, online, and more.”

These film projects cover diverse topics, stories, techniques, and themes and screenings are located throughout Los Angeles in the Fox Hills, Lafayette Square, and Culter City. areas.

The Festival presents over 100 documentaries and short films highlighting over 50 filmmakers, with Q&A’s after each film block.

BHERC spotlight shorts created by diverse youth and “this screening and dialogue is an opportunity for emerging young directors to showcase their skills, talent, and vision” while giving the audience an opportunity to “view and discuss the artistry, passion, and sacrifice involved in the independent film making process.”
