Last Fast Ride: The Life, Love, and Death of a Punk Goddess

Before the quarantines and cancellations, The Punk Archives at UCLA presented “Last Fast Ride: The Life, Love, and Death of a Punk Goddess,” as part of its ongoing series, DocTalks. The film chronicles the adventures of 90s Bay area punk band, the Insaints, and the life of late lead singer Marian Anderson, whose performance was informed by her work as a fetish model and dominatrix.

The documentary, directed by Lilly Scourtis Ayers and narrated by Henry Rollins, was released in February of 2011, and includes interviews with Insaints bandmate Greg Langston, Tim Armstrong (Rancid), Becky Wreck (Lunachicks), Dexter Holland (The Offspring), Fate Fatal and L.A. punk goddesses Texas Terri and Ginger Coyote. This punk underground classic follows a young, abused, confused, and talented girl on her musical journey through the dark alleys of punk rock stardom. The bands, the drugs. The cutting, the squats and the sex scenes of our hidden society.

It was UCLA at its best—educating the future through the past.

Last Fast Ride is available on iTunes, Amazon, and YouTube Movies.
