For 98 years, countless Angelenos enjoyed leisurely evenings at the Hollywood Bowl. COVID-19 brought these beloved summer outings to a screeching halt, and it’s been a serious sonic loss.

Starting this Sunday, and every Sunday evening through October 11, assuage that Bowl-shaped hole in your heart by listening to free broadcasts of previously recorded Bowl concerts.

During “LA Phil x KCRW: World Festival at the Hollywood Bowl,” give a listen to some of the most iconic artists to hit the Bowl’s venerable stage. The series starts this Sunday, August 23, with Kraftwerk and Yellow Magic Orchestra. Subsequent evenings will focus on the likes of Blondie, Rodrigo y Gabriela, Jimmy Cliff, Cibo Matto, Janelle Monae, Sigur Rós, St. Vincent, Femi Kuti, Robyn, and more. Listen from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 pm. on KCRW 89.9, online at hollywoodbowl.com/kcrw or kcrw.com, or on the KCRW app. More info can be found here.
