As Halloween nears with no sign of an end for Covid, Haunts and promotional events have started to switch to a “drive-into” mode. The “Stranger Things” experience in Downtown LA, which will be open from October 1 through 31, 2020, will take 24 cars at a time back to 1985 at the Starcourt Mall and the Russian Labs, as well as other locations from the show, where you will “witness some unforeseen and unusual occurrences.” The one-hour show isn’t advertised as scary, but it is not recommended for kids under 13. There will be live actors, and “mind-blowing audio and visual effects” at each immersive station you park at. Just beware, “things can quickly turn uʍop ǝpᴉsdn.”
You will need to have least one smartphone with WIFI capability per car. You can connect it to your car radio or bring a separate Bluetooth speaker for the best sound. Motorcycles, convertables with the top down, RVs and vehicles over 7-feet in height will not be allowed. Please arrive 15 minutes prior to your scheduled time. No smoking, vaping, or non-service animals. Restrooms and food/drinks for purchase will be available.
All tickets, which start at $59 per car, will be sold online, with options from 2 – 7 occupants. There is also a choice of Standard Access or VIP Access, which gets you Fast Track Entry, a Mystery box of swag, snacks and non-alcoholic drinks, and a dedicated team to welcome you in. Tickets are nonrefundable but you will have a chance to exchange them. Tickets will be released at 12 Noon today, August 26, but super-fans can get on the waiting list sooner.
