Outdoor dining is shut down again due to Covid, making the future of LA restaurants more precarious than ever. You gotta eat, so why not help support local independent restaurants this week and order food to go? Now’s your chance for a major dinnertime bargain from Manuela – to try a brand-new, organic stationary food truck in Malibu – and to get prepared food and groceries from the local outpost of a famed Naples pizzeria.

Located in DTLA’s Arts District, California-meets-Southern restaurant Manuela is offering Nightly Supper for Two for a fantastic price – $48 for two entrées, salad, vegetable sides, two biscuits, and dessert. Entrees include choices like grass-fed skirt steak, buttermilk fried chicken, or smoked pork ribs. Specials rotate and the menu can be found weekly on Manuela’s Instagram. Seasonal batched cocktails are also a to-go option. Website

Newly opened in Malibu on December 2, stationary food truck Rockwell Kitchen offers healthy, high-quality, elevated breakfast and brunch dishes to grab and enjoy at home or in your car while taking in views of the Pacific Ocean. This woman-owned and operated eatery is the creation of Chef Alla Rockwell, previously a pastry cook at Nobu Malibu and Michael Voltaggio’s Ink. What drives the menu here? What’s fresh, what’s local, and what’s seasonal. Among the adventurous choices to be found here: a Lobster BLT with chive aioli, Chickpea Tacos, Cinnamon Roll Waffle, Green Shakshuka, a Caprese Scramble, and  a Salmon Breakfast Sandwich. You’ll find a large array of drink choices from the superfood coffee bar, along with wellness shots, boxed water, Mexican Coke, and more. Rockwell Kitchen is located on PCH just north of Topanga Canyon Blvd. Website

L’antica Pizzeria da Michele, the Hollywood offshoot of the famed pizzeria that figured prominently in “Eat Pray Love,” is offering not just its fall menu to go, but also goods from its new grocer marketplace. You can order items like a make-at-home pizza kit, fresh produce, quality cheeses, handmade pasta, freshly made pasta sauces, eggs, milk, and more for pickup. You’ll even get one of Da Michele’s famed margherita pizzas with a $100 purchase. website
