A Studio City restaurant and lounge with a mid-century, Palm Springs vibe, Mister O’s is renowned for excellent cocktails, among them the Chain Riachtion, a standout version of that modern classic, the Penicillin.

Anchoring the Chain Riachtion is Benriach Smoky 10, a peaty, ten-year-old single malt Scotch whisky. Herbaceous Amaro, lemon juice, ginger syrup, and salted honey syrup join the Smoky 10, creating a concoction that evokes a classic, Hot Toddy-like curative.

This limited-time libation is available for a few more days at Mister O’s. You can drink it on the premises, get it to go, or make your own using the recipe below created by Mister O’s Danny Natali.

Recipe: Chain Riachtion by Danny Natali (Mister O’s, LA)

1.5 oz Benriach The Smoky Ten
0.5 oz Amaro
0.75 oz Lemon Juice
5/8 oz Ginger Syrup*
5/8 oz Salted Honey Syrup**

Add all ingredients into shaker tins. Shake until fully emulsified. Double strain over fresh ice into a rocks glass. Garnish with candied ginger.

*Ginger Syrup: Mix fresh ginger juice, cane sugar, and water at a 2:2:1 ratio with an immersion blender until combined

**Salted Honey Syrup: Mix honey with hot water at a 2:1 ratio and finish with sea salt (one pinch for every ounce of liquid)

Mister O’s is located at 11838 Ventura Blvd. (818) 358-3839. Cheers!
