And this year, So Cal’s already dry conditions have been exacerbated by the drought, so it’s a tinderbox out there! Many public fireworks displays, like those in Claremont, have already been cancelled. Please don’t light illegal fireworks, instead check out where to party!!!
CINESPIA AT HOLLYWOOD FOREVER /2-4 9PM / $20 – $45
From Saturday, July 2, through Monday, July 4, Cinespia is offering a trio of screenings including “Fast and the Furious” on Saturday, July 2; “Purple Rain” on Sunday, July 3; and “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off” on Monday, July 4. After the movies, fireworks will light up the sky above the cemetery. So, bring a picnic and enjoy two of America’s favorite past-times.
Saturday, Sunday and Monday, July 2-4, 2022 the Hollywood Bowl will present two of the funniest, most influential, and most acclaimed talents of the past century: Steve Martin and Martin Short at 7:30 p.m. Following the performance, The Bowl’s famous fireworks will fill the Hollywood sky.
BIG BANG ON THE BAY / 5:30 / $50
On Sunday, July 3, Long Beach is the location of a famous block party at Boathouse on the Bay The party begins at 5:30 pm and dinner will be catered by the Naples Rib Company. You will have the perfect vantage point for the fireworks over Alamitos Bay. Tickets are $50 per adult and $30 per child under 10, with proceeds going to charity.
GRAND PARK / MONDAY 4PM – 10PM / FREE
Grand Park, along with The Music Center, celebrates the park’s 10th anniversary with the return of Grand Park’s free 4th of July Block Party. Gates open at 4:00 p.m., for six-hours of festivities featuring live entertainment and a spectacular fireworks show. Bring a picnic or enjoy a variety of treats from gourmet food trucks.
There will be six city blocks of exciting art projects, including digital works by Nany Cárdenas and an art installation by Jimenez Lai, plus two stages presenting global music, DJ sets, spoken word recitals, including Afrobeat, Brazilian, Dub Reggae, Cumbia, Afro Funke,’ Ethiopian Jazz and Soul, music from Peru, Colombia and Brazil, and some of Flypoet’s celebrated spoken word poets. Fireworks will take place between 9:00 – 9:15 with a playlist by Rani de Leon.
Alcohol is not permitted and will not be sold at Grand Park. Public parking will be available at The Music Center (135 N. Grand Avenue, Los Angeles, CA 90012) and Walt Disney Concert Hall (111 S. Grand Avenue, Los Angeles, CA 90012) at a flat rate of $9 per vehicle. Additional parking lots near Grand Park will be available. However, given the large number of guests expected at the event, members of the public are highly encouraged to take public transportation. Grand Park is located conveniently at the Civic Center/Grand Park station along the Metro B Line (Red) and Metro D Line (Purple).

Celebrate Independence Day this Monday with a spectacular 20-minute fireworks show over the water in Marina del Rey. You can watch from anywhere around the harbor. Local restaurants for comfortable viewing include Tony P’s Dockside Grill, The Warehouse Restaurant, or on the roof at High Rooftop Lounge in Venice. Some people suggest arriving early in the afternoon and hanging out at Burton Chase Park or at the local watering holes. You can take Uber to avoid the parking and traffic hassles.
Fireworks start at 9 p.m. and last 20 minutes. You can enjoy the show with synchronized music at either Burton Chace Park or Fisherman’s Village.
