The Accusatory Cow

I always thought it was strange when BBQ and taco joints would have murals of happy piggies prancing around. Even if it was meant to convince you that it was suicidal food begging to jump into your eager gullet, American culture has done its best to make us think that steaks grow on trees. Why remind us we are eating little beasties? This mural at the Handy Mart in Burbank had the usual frolicking farm animals, except for this guy.

His eyes seem to be saying, “Yeah, you just enjoy that steak. Wait until your arteries clog up – it’s called karma, buddy. What? You’re still going to post pictures of hamburgers today? Hang your head in shame. Hang. Your. Head. In. Shame.”
