On Saturday, July 16, the first annual Munchathon will be taking place in Orange County. Instead of the proverbial carrot, runners will be treated to various noshes along the way to inspire their sweat. The event promotion encourages, “Save your appetite, Grab your bib and get ready to munch your way through a 5K food-themed obstacle course filled with all sorts of surprises.” Let’s hope one of those surprises isn’t projectile vomiting.
If you don’t have the constitution to run while shoving sushi down your gob, or are too dang lazy to run at all, there will be a festival in the park after the marathon. The fest features gourmet food trucks including the Nom Nom Truck and Ludo’s.
Teams are encouraged to dress alike in food-themed costumes to add to the fun. You still have time to grab a handful of Korean tacos and train. Sign up to run or purchase festival tickets here.
