“I wanted to crash together the American experience, dream and psyche and liberate it.” – Random Act aka Andrea LaHue
RANDOM ACT aka Andrea LaHue’s “Americana” opens at the Lab Art Gallery on Thursday, December 13, 2012 and runs through January 13, 2013. The exhibit of new works by LaHue explores various themes of the American psyche: “revolution, independence, and redemption”. The exhibit will take the “audience on a dynamic journey through iconic images such as Abraham Lincoln, Gil Scott-Heron and Woody Guthrie” using their writings, relevant maps, icons and images all inspired by her personal journey of painting the flowers — for which she is known — across 51 cities in the United States. Opening night, December 13th (RSVP required), will also feature special performances of The Gettysburg Address (Abraham Lincoln) and The Revolution Will Not Be Televised (Gil Scott-Heron).
