Readers and authors should check out the second Book’d in Burbank at Theatre Banshee on April 11. Presented by Liz D, the event includes readings from Young Adult (YA), Mystery and Romance authors, a raffle, a cash bar, a dessert & mingling reception, stand-up comedy with a literary twist and an Operation Paperback book drive for the U.S. troops. Tickets are $10 and the event runs from 8 to 9:30pm.
The featured authors are Michelle Gagnon (YA technothriller), Robin Benway (YA mystery/espionage), Anne Kemp (contemporary romance), Felice Fox (steamy and erotic contemporary romance), Ann Royal Nicholas (sexy mystery), and Tammy Kaehler (mystery/suspense). Stand-up comedy will be provided by writer/comedian Jordan Likover.
The raffle prizes will be provided by Upbound Books, which “upcycles” damaged books into lovely items like jewelry boxes, and Novel Brand, which turns old books into art, as well as Shelf Pleasure, an online community for women readers.
