If you loved the man and dug his music, now you have the chance to celebrate Miles Davis as a visual artist this Saturday, November 9th, between 12 noon – 2 p.m. at Mr. Music Head Gallery on Sunset Boulevard in Hollywood with a very special Book signing and release party to launch the new Miles Davis art book entitled Miles Davis: The Collected Artwork.
This special event will opportunity to have your book signed by Cheryl Davis (daughter of Miles), Erin Davis (son of Miles) and Vince Wilburn, Jr. (nephew of Miles) will be available to sign books, take photos and meet and greet with all of you. (All of whom are super cool folks.) To keep your music taste buds tingling and your ears singing Mr. Musichead Gallery is also carrying Miles Davis’ The Original Mono Recordings, which collects nine of Miles’ earliest Columbia albums recorded from 1956 – 1961, (and released from 1957 to 1964), issued together on CD for the first time as Miles Davis: The Original Mono Recordings. You’ll also have the chance to grab your own copy of The Original Mono Recording in advance of its original street date set for November 11th. As a fan myself of Miles Davis music and as an owner of one of Miles’ art books find this as an excellent opportunity to gain insight and to be moved by his artistry as a musician and by his brilliant interpretations on canvas via this new book. This book launch and party promises to be an amazing way to honor his impressive catalog of musical work and delve deeper into the whole of his artistry, while spicing up a Saturday after noon with something truly interesting. This is a no-miss event!
