Chris Morris Book Reading and Signing at La Luz De Jesus of Los Lobos: Dream In Blue

Chris MorrisLong time music journalist, occasional radio host, American music aficionado and promoter Chris Morris has authored a new book, Los Lobos: Dream In Blue, released last month through University of Texas Press. Chris Morris is well known as the radio host of indie 103’s Watusi Radio, his efforts at Grand Ole Echo and as a music critic for Variety. Dream in Blue chronicles the expansive musical topography of Los Lobos from their beginning in East LA, their world-wide commercial and award-winning successes to their current independent efforts.

Long before their cover of “La Bamba” hit number 1 on the music charts, Los Lobos was recognized in the punk community for their musical efforts. Los Lobos sui generis style really reflects the purity of the punk ethos of an eclectic and original approach to making music. Anyone who has listened to Los Lobos knows of the power and beauty of their music. There are very few bands who have shown this kind of versatility and virtuosity in so many different musical genres.

Chris Morris will be discussing, reading from and signing his book Los Lobos: Dream In Blue (American Music) at La Luz De Jesus (4633 Hollywood Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90027 (323) 666-7667) Sunday, October 18th, from 4pm to 7pm. If you are looking for a great read and an exceptional insider view on an incredible American band with an impressive eclectic discography, be there. Follow Los Lobos as they explore different musical genres and achieve international success.
