Partners Lucy Khan and Iris Ichiya joined forces to fill LA’s need for an upscale, safe, comfortable place “where people can expand their sexual boundaries and connect with their deepest desires.” Unlike the ubiquitous black and red color scheme that plagues the BDSM community, The Decameron is decorated like an elegant hotel. Creams and teals predominate, with touches of yellow and taupe. Keeping with the elegance of the event, evening wear is requested. Once inside, you can change into your fetish gear to enjoy their rooms, which include a BDSM studio and a rooftop oasis.
We spoke with LA-based Performance Artist, Writer, and Professional Dominatrix Grace Marie, who assured us the space is pro-woman, pro-sub, pro-LGBTQ, and pro-awesomeness! One example of how The Decameron is safety-minded is that their personnel will unobtrusively monitor the action to make sure everyone has a good experience. That’s very comforting for a sub, especially when they are trying something new, or someone new. The monitor will also be there as a support for the Dominant, should they perhaps forget how to undo a new harness.
