Welsh singer Judith Owen seems to be one of those people who can’t help overdoing it a little over the holidays. The annual Christmas party she throws with husband Harry Shearer has turned from a handful of friends gathered around the piano in a living room, into a traveling show with a celebrity cast, and the list of invited guests gets more staggering by the year. At this year’s gathering, we’ll get to see a lot of familiar faces from the 2014 show, including Peter Asher of Peter & Gordon fame, Jane Lynch, jazz singer Julia Fordham, comedians Schoolcraft & Murray, old-timey vocal trio the Songbirds, and surrealist puppet master Godfrey Daniel. Odds are good there will be another Harry Shearer satirical political song, possibly involving Donald Trump, Bill O’Reilly, or some very specific person in the Obama administration meeting Santa Claus. But the opportunity to see FRED WILLARD LIVE is not one to be missed. And be sure to stick around for part two of the show, which involves singing Christmas carols en masse with the entire cast, with the likes of Steve Lukather and Leland Sklar as your personal backing band.
