On Wednesday December 9th The Hollywood Museum, which is festive and glamorous enough all year round, will gussy itself up even further for the Holidays. More importantly, it will open its doors to between 60 and 80 students from the Dolores Mission School!
Dedicated to serving low income families, this K-8 learning institution aspires to teach children in a most holistic, nurturing fashion centering around all things academic, spiritual, physical, and ethical. Beyond that, another heartening to unique fact about the Dolores Mission School is that its students encompass a grander socio-cultural vision fostering the growth of children’s communal leadership potential, with an aim at assisting them in overcoming poverty!
Commencing at 9:30 am and lasting until 10:30 am the children will have the magical opportunity of touring the Hollywood Museum in all its decked out glory to Christmas trees and garlands galore! Related festivities will consist of inspiring stories and fascinating messages from local politicians and celebrities alike. Personalities to include: Former child stars such as Romi Dames from Hannah Montana, Alison Arngrim, TV’s original bad girl Nellie Oleson on Little House on the Prairie, Erin Murphy aka Tabitha on Bewitched, Johnny Whittaker most memorable as Jody from Family Affair, and Paul Petersen aka Jeff of The Donna Reed Show. Also making appearances, legendary Film/TV moms Dee Wallace of ET and Cujo fame, and Ilene Graff from Mr. Belvedere!
The entire morning should prove to be a most uplifting and joyful occasion followed by lunch at the world famous Mel’s Diner next door, wherein each of the children will receive a gift bag including additional souvenirs to take home to their families! But the fun will not stop there as a choice few will be the lucky recipients of a Buppalapaloo Bear: an adorable new toy invented by none other than Dee Wallace specifically created to assist in boosting self esteem!
