Retrospekt: A Film by Sam Hare featuring Gitane Demone Quartet + Eva Braun Extravaganza at Cafe Nela July 29

Last January at Cafe Nela, Gitane Demone Quartet organized a 17-piece experimental orchestra of local musicians from different groups (LA Drones, Ravens Moreland, Egrets On Ergot, Harry Cloud, The Deadbeats, Saccharine Trust, Carnage Asada & more) for a 48- minute version of Sun Ra’s composition “Retrospekt”. This concert was filmed by Sam Hare and crew, and will be premiered at Cafe Nela on Sunday July 29.

In celebration of the film, Gitane Demone Quartet have organized another musical community extravaganza: a 30-minute version of The Screamers classic song “Eva Braun”, with GDQuartet + ensemble of musicians and featuring a 20-piece choir of singers.
