Benefit for Dukey Flyswatter at Cafe NELA Saturday

Actor, screenwriter, LA Beat writer and frontman for epic horror punk/gore band Haunted Garage since 1985, Michael Sonye, aka Dukey Flyswatter, has been scheduled for brain surgery to remove a tumor near his visual cortex on December 10th. This is especially bad luck coming as he is still recovering from knee surgery.

It’s kind of ironic, because one of Haunted Garage’s hits is a song called “Brain in a Jar.” Along with blood, a chainsaw and a vintage fat-melting jiggling machine, a brain in a jar has been a longtime Haunted Garage prop.

This Saturday, join Haunted Garage and their “Gore Gore Girls” dancers, Gitane  Demone Quartet, Fifi, and Radioactive Chicken Heads “in a night of debauchery” at Cafe NELA to raise money for medical expenses. Herbert will be entertaining the crowd on the patio between sets. Doors open at 8:30 PM and the entry is $10. Haunted Garage will also be auctioning off the amazing fat-melting jiggling machine! If you can’t make this epic show, you can help out here.
