SiR at his Chasing Summer Forever Tour – Review and Photo Gallery

Spending my Tuesday evening with SiR at the Novo was an incredible treat. With a slew of special guests to celebrate his first sold-out Los Angeles show, it was sure to be a resplendent time.

Joe Kay of Soulection kicked off the show with his DJ set. Mixed with crowd favorites and soulful cuts, Joe Kay kept the crowd on their feet. TeaMarrr followed closely after, tearing up the stage with her electric stage presence and playful banter between songs.

SiR began his set with a few tracks off of his latest album, “Chasing Summer”. Almost immediately, Smino appears stage left, who performs “LA Lisa” with SiR. He continues with hits like “John Redcorn” and “D’Evils”.

SiR gets teary-eyed in the middle of his set – explaining that he’s been in the music industry for 11 years, hyperlocalized from Inglewood nearby – and that tonight was his first sold-out headlining performance in Los Angeles. He brings out his mom on stage, who performs a beautiful acapella and piano solo. Among other guests, SiR also brings out Masego, Sabrina Claudio, Zacari, Kadhja Bonet, D Smoke, Buddy, and more. To close out the evening, a few Top Dawg Entertainment labelmates joined him on stage, welcoming SZA and others. “Hair Down” was the encore.

SiR was incredibly vulnerable with his audience and visibly grateful for his fans’ support and recent success. He’s a rare talent, and I’m excited to see what projects he works on next.
