James Joyce’s celebrated novel, Ulysses, follows Leopold Bloom and the book’s other characters throughout the day and night of Thursday, June 16, 1904. People across the globe celebrate the novel today, “Bloomsday,” with readings, theater, and costumes inspired by the story.
This year the celebration moves online and includes a virtual film festival with screenings of short films “inspired by all things Joycean.” The films will be available until midnight, June 16, but the website does not specify the time zone. Dublin is eight hours ahead of Los Angeles, so make sure to get them all in before 4 p.m. just in case.
