Super Bowl 2022: 18 Great Food Specials You Won’t Want to Miss

The Super Bowl is always a good reason to converge and indulge. This year, the Super Bowl is even more exciting than usual for Angelenos, as the Big Game returns to LA after a nearly 30-year absence. Watch the Los Angeles Rams take on the Cincinnati Bengals at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, with a halftime show featuring Dr. Dre, Eminem, Snoop Dogg, Mary J. Blige, and Kendrick Lamar. 

Whether you want to experience the game out with a crowd or you’d rather watch from home, see below for suggestions of where to get your fill of chicken wings, tacos, pizza, and much more. 

On Super Bowl Sunday, San Pedro Fish Market takes their World-Famous Shrimp Tray to a whole new level. Their Game Day Tray is loaded with large shrimp, pastrami, sausage, pork belly, corn, seasoned potatoes, and mixed vegetables, along with a loaf of crusty, house-made garlic bread. Mas Veggies Vegan Taqueria, Veggie Grill’s ghost kitchen concept, offers plant-based alternatives to classic Mexican tacos. Vegan protein choices available here include Chickin’ Tinga, Chipotle Carnitas, Tejano Beef, Smokey Mushroom Asada, and Cripsy Baja Fish. Order their taco pack of six plant-based tacos for Super Bowl Sunday for $21.95 – you can get six of one style or three of two different styles.  Más Veggies tacos are available for pick-up or delivery at all Veggie Grill locations.

Hollywood’s largest rooftop, I|O at the Godfrey Hotel, is hosting a Super Bowl viewing party with an enormous, 70-foot tall screen projected on the hotels’ courtyard. Savor game-day specials such as sushi, buffalo chicken wings, sesame garlic chicken wings, Chicago-style hot dogs, beer brats, lamb lollipops, baby back ribs, and Wagyu burgers. More info here.

All-day happy hour on Super Bowl Sunday? You’ll find just that at Arth Bar + Kitchen. This sophisticated modern Indian eatery in Culver City will feature four TVs to watch the game, along with $5 well drinks and $6 drafts. Like the idea of a SoFi-adjacent location to watch the game? Try Hyatt House LAX. The hotel’s 15th-floor rooftop, ShoresLAX, offers swaying palm trees, grilled tacos, and well-crafted cocktails, along with three large-screen TVs that assure good views from every seat. The tailgate menu, available every day through Super Bowl Sunday, includes crudité, tacos, Touchdown Tomahawk (Go) for Two, and a “superfood bowl” with salmon, spinach, shaved Brussels sprouts, quinoa, roasted cauliflower, garbanzo beans, tomatoes, and almonds. Massis Kabob has been serving authentic Middle Eastern and Mediterranean food to Angelenos since 1976. For Game Day, all six locations are offering family meal game packs to go, with options such as chicken kabobs, beef koubideh skewers, Persian rice, Shirazi salad, taboule, hummus, pita bread, and grilled tomatoes and peppers. Known for elevated vegan Mexican food and an “all agave, all the time” bar program, Gracias Madre offers some great house-made canned cocktails perfect for Game Day. Try the House Margarita made with either tequila or mezcal or the Michelada. Conversely, drink at Gracias Madre on Super Bowl Sunday and your drinks will be served with Rams and Bengals ice cubes. Watch the game on El Granjero Cantina’s outdoor patio at the Original Farmers Market. You’ll find hibiscus quesadillas, tacos, burritos, nachos, frozen margaritas or mojitos, and more. Cafe Gratitude debuted their new Buffalo Cauliflower Pizza just in time for Super Bowl Sunday. This vegan pizza offering features almond burrata, buffalo sauce, marinara, and escabeche. Owned by the team behind Bacari, Byrdie’s Rotisserie offers a great chicken combo. A juicy whole chicken, four double-portioned side dishes (with options like truffled mac and cheese, rainbow carrots with gochujang, street corn, and fingerling potatoes au jus) and three sauces serves four for just $50. Watch the Bowl near the beach at Viceroy Santa Monica. Sugar Palm, the property’s recently opened restaurant/lounge/bar, is serving its Tailgate Menu from 3 to 10 p.m. on February 13. You’ll find game bites like Playoff Wings, a taco trio, sliders, and more. Reservations can be made on OpenTable. You can also rent a poolside cabana that seats up to six. Cabanas feature a personal 55-inch HDTV, sofa seating, complimentary appetizer platter, bottle of sparkling wine,  bottled water, wi-fi, and heaters.

Watch the Super Bowl at Firestone Walker’s local outlet, The Propagator Brewhouse in Venice. Their all-day 805 Tailgate Cookout features free entry, along with food and beer specials all day until closing. The cookout goes from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., with a DJ spinning from opening to 3 p.m. Savor BBQ burgers and brats (grilled over a Santa Maria pit), along with Firestone Walker’s beers brewed with LA palates in mind: Welcome to LA is a West Coast lager with fruity hops, while Mind Haze is loaded with tropical fruit hop flavors. The chef-driven eatery is highlighting its fresh chicken tenders for Super Bowl Sunday.
