Where to Celebrate 4th of July Weekend, 2023

Fireworks shows at the Rose Bowl, in Redondo Beach, Pacific Palisades and Malibu have been canceled this year due to new environmental rules regarding plastics falling into the ocean. Speaking of the environment, please don’t light illegal fireworks, instead check out everywhere else you can party this weekend! Stay tuned for a July 4th fireworks roundup.

PORT OF LA AND LA WATERFRONT Pre-Independence Day “Cars & Stripes Forever”

Fri, Jun 30, 2023 from 5pm until 10pm, the  Port of Los Angeles and LA Waterfront invite you to celebrate with their Pre-Independence Day “Cars & Stripes Forever.” The free event takes place at Harbor Boulevard & Vincent Thomas Bridge in San Pedro, and features classic cars, live music, food trucks, a beer garden, and a fireworks finale! at 9 p.m. Live bands include Midlife Crisis AND Identity Crisis!

SATURDAY, JULY 1ST

CINESPIA AT HOLLYWOOD FOREVER With Fireworks

Gates – 7:15pm / Movie – 9pm

Celebrate Independence Day with Rudolph Valentino. Jayne Mansfield, and two Ramones. Cinespia will be screening Tim Burton’s film, Pee-Wee’s Big Adventure at 9pm at Hollywood Forever Cemetery. The screenings, which have become an LA staple, will be followed by a fireworks display. The party will feature DJs, a concession stand, and free photo booth. Pack your own picnic with beer and wine, but no hard liquor. Low chairs are allowed, and a tarp is recommended if you are using a blanket, as the grass is often dewy.

HOLLYWOOD BOWL July Fourth Fireworks Spectacular with The Beach Boys

The Hollywood Bowl continues its annual tradition of fireworks and music, featuring the “other” Beach Boys with Mike Love. With special guest John Stamos (???) on drums, who also sings the Dennis parts. Mike Love sang lead on Surfin’ USA, California Dreamin, Good Vibrations, and most of their other big hits from the 60s, so even without Brian, it should be a good show. Half off for kids 12 and under. It’s not a contracted event, so house rules apply, which means you can bring wine bottles, wine glasses and beer bottles. Containers, picnic baskets and coolers must measure15 inches wide, 15 inches high or 22 inches long or smaller.

MONDAY, JULY 3rd, 2023

BIG BANG – Boathouse on the Bay

5:30pm / $50

On Monday, July 3, Long Beach is the location of a famous block party at Boathouse on the Bay The party begins at 5:30 pm with a street party, outside bar followed by a 6pm dinner of Pork Ribs, BBQ Chicken breasts, Hot Dogs, Hot Links and the usual sides will be catered by the Naples Rib Company. There will be an airshow featuring US Coast Guard MH-65 Dolphin Search and Rescue, Para Gliders Entertainment, North American SNJ-5?AT-6 Duet and the Tiger Squadron. You will have the perfect vantage point for the sunset as well as fireworks over Alamitos Bay, which start at 9pm. Tickets are $50 per adult and $30 per child under 10, with proceeds going to charity.
