Set the date for Thursday, September 14, 2023, in Beverly Hills for two Los Angeles-based fine art photographers (and partners), Michael Grecco and Elizabeth Waterman, and their opening night receptions at the Leica Gallery LA in Beverly Hills.

For those of you who remember my review of  Michael Grecco‘s “Punk, Post Punk, New Wave: Onstage, Backstage, In Your Face, 1978–1991,” you’ll remember his wonderfully candid portraits of punks and concert photos of many famous, iconic, and beloved punks in the seminal stages of their lives, and the musical journey that led to them becoming intergenerationally loved and idolized.

Grecco’s “DAYS OF PUNK” exhibition will open the eyes of many to those glorious early days of the underground Punk Rock movement.

“The spirit of Punk was extraordinary. It marked me forever. As you look at these images, I hope you also get touched by its infectious freedom.” – Michael Grecco

Elizabeth Waterman’s photographic work will run concurrently with the “DAYS OF PUNK” at the Leica Gallery. Her fine art background adds depth and vision to her examination of the unseen and underground lives of strippers and exotic dancers she surveyed over a 5-year period in her ongoing body of work called “MONEYGAME.”

Waterman’s MONEYGAME flips the script by recasting and capturing strippers and exotic dancers through the eyes of the female gaze. MONEYGAME captures these women in unfettered and unfiltered ways that will be fully displayed at the opening.

“I know that I’ve been changed by the experience. I’ve taken on some of their audacity.” — Elizabeth Waterman

Leica Gallery Los Angeles offers, on a regular basis, accomplished and gifted works in photography. Both Michael Grecco’s “DAYS OF PUNK” and Elizabeth Waterman’s “MONEYGAME” exemplify that legacy.

The Leica Gallery is located at 8783 Beverly Blvd., West Hollywood, CA 90048, and the opening reception is on September 14, 2023, from 6 to 8 p.m.

Both exhibits will run through November 5, 2023, with gallery hours Monday-Saturday 10 a.m. – 6 p.m., and Sundays 12 p.m. – 5 p.m. Complementary valet parking is available Monday through Friday in the parking lot to the right of the store.
