Christmas Cheer with No Dishes to Wash

It’s the holidays and it’s time to give yourself a nervous breakdown cooking for two straight days and trying to please everyone, which is impossible. Or. You could just pick up the phone and make reservations.

Pamper yourself with champagne and caviar for only $100 this Christmas Eve, less than the price of an American Girl doll! Petrossian is offering a $100 prix fixe dinner. Executive Chef Giselle Wellman is offering decadent courses like Lobster Ravioli, Aged Rib Eye, and Champagne Sorbet with Caviar, and an Egg Royale (No, it in not a Royal with Cheese. It comes with Caviar, Soft Scrambled Eggs, and Vodka Whipped Cream. Swoon.

LA Market Restaurant by Kerry Simon is offering three-course prix fixe menus for Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day. “The unique menus,  showcase the restaurant’s spin on classic holiday dishes influenced by the restaurant’s signature contemporary comfort cuisine.” Christmas Eve features Roasted Chestnut Soup with spiced cream, apple flan, and jamon Serrano; and Maple Leaf Farms Duck Breast with celery root, date bread pudding, and dried cherry chutney. Christmas day will feature Harris Ranch Sirloin with truffle parmesan potato terrine and pearl onion-bacon jus; and Roasted Apple Cheesecake with cinnamon pecan maple praline – and you know we love Harris Ranch! $52 person, $21 for children under 12, 

Locanda del Lago in Santa Monica will be featuring a special “Cena di Natale” menu. On Christmas Eve and Christmas day, Executive Chef Gianfranco Minuz will be whipping up a prix fixe feast with “traditional Italian winter ingredients, such as chestnuts, artichokes, and veal,” with your choice of three or four courses. Also on the menu are salmon, chicken tortellini and semifreddo with pannetone ($55 for three courses; $68 for four courses; not including tax and gratuity). the specials will be offered alongside an optional wine pairing menu ($25) and a seasonal dessert ($11).

The traditional Italian Feast of the Seven Fishes, La Vigilia, will be observed by Chef Michael Cimarusti’s at Providence between 4pm to 8pm Christmas Eve. The menu is inspired by his grandmother and great-grandmother. Menu items include striped bass,  stracciatella (egg soup) with lobster, scallops and cauliflower with black truffle ice cream. $120 per person.

Saturday December 24th Joe’s will be offering a Xmas Eve dinner from 5:30PM-10PM. Selections for the prix fixe dinner include Boconcini di Bufala Mozzarella with Local Roasted Beets, House-Made Persimmon Jelly, Pistachio Crunch, Seared Rouge Foie Gras meets our House Gingerbread, Popped Cranberries, Winter’s Pear Sorbet, and Goat’s Cheese Tuile, and those are just the starters! Mains include Roasted Duroc Porchetta with Black Beluga Lentils, See Canyon Apples, Red Braised Radicchio and Father Christmas’ Standing Prime Rib of Beef, Puffed Yorkshire Pudding, Carrots Pulled from Arroyo Grande, and Roasted Brussels and Shallots to Boot. No gingerbread men were harmed in the making of the desserts. $75/person For reservations: 310.399.5811
