Nia Peeples: Beauty Q&A

I had the pleasure of chatting with Nia at the Time Warner Cabletime Party the other night. Anyone who’s met Nia is immediately disarmed by her natural beauty, charm, and down-to-earth warmth. She just glows! Nia also writes about beauty, health, and empowerment on her own blog, Nia’s Elements of Life.

Clothes:  The dress is from Sisa. My ‘Malibu Moms,’ as I call them, Noriko and Ema, help me get ready. I bring them with me!

Shoes: These are old! Playboy platforms, no, really. They’re comfortable.

Hair: I have to give a shout out to my hairdresser, because I just got it done today and it was the first time. Her name is Annika Haughton at the Angus Mitchell Salon. (I remark that she took quite a risk getting it cut and colored the day of a red carpet shoot by someone she never worked with before, but Nia said she liked to give people a shot.) I emailed her ahead of time and let her know what I needed. And look how it came out! (As you can see, quite well.)

Rings: My grandfather made these. He was a professor of art at Baylor University.  My bracelet is from Re/Worked, and it’s an old guitar strap. The watch is a Reactor.

Earrings: Oh god! My son’s ex girlfriend left these at our house…so I kept ’em!

Makeup: I do my own with my Malibu Moms!

I could have kept going, but Nia is in demand and had to run back to the red (blue) carpet. Find her on twitter.

  1. Love the idea of a guitar strap bracelet.

I tried to find their website, but I couldn’t! Googling re/worked jewelry leads to TONS of stuff, but I will find it eventually. It’s a gorgeous piece.
