Mika Fowler debuts at Kim Vo Salon!

Mika, Mika, MIKA – I’ve written about my love of Mika Fowler’s magic fingers and her amazing dry-cuts before. Last night I got to join about a million others (exaggeration) at a party that will go on for two more nights to celebrate Mika’s relocation to the Kim Vo Salon at the Montage Hotel.

Mika transcended the world of hair styling and entered celebrity status when she began sculpting the tresses of Tinsel-town’s elite. Mika loves working with celebrities as she says their hard work and dedication to their craft inspires her to work harder. With an ingrained sense of style and a pair of sheers, it’s undoubtedly Mika’s cosmetology creations that had earned her the well-deserved position as Gavert Atelier’s style director.

After 10 years at the Gavert Atelier Salon, Mika continues her journey into the hair world by relocating her ‘home’ to the Montage in Beverly Hills where she will work at the Kim Vo Salon alongside some of the best in the city.

Her specialty: the “dry cut” is described as cutting the hair after it is blow dried as opposed to when it is wet which assists in maintaining both the hair’s health and style. She believes that you can best see the hairs natural body when it is dry which makes it easier to cut. Dry hair with natural body, makes it easier to cut a line that compliments the face. The inspiration for her looks come from the shape of her clients face. She is interested in finding a style that compliments the clients bone structure and works with their natural beauty. She believes that a hair style adds to personal beauty and style. Mika is Vidal Sassoon trained, from the teachings of Beverly Hills owner Stuart Gavert and her time in Japan.

As free-spirited as she is, her dedication to precision is what makes this particular cut her signature craft. Celebrity Clients include Olivia Munn, Annalynne McCord, Emma Roberts, Malin Akerman, Rosario Dawson, Karina Smirnoff, Cameron Monaghan, Ali Fedotowsky, Emanuelle Chriqui, Nina Dobrev and many more.

Kim Vo Salon is located inside the Montage Hotel at 225 N. Canon Dr. Beverly Hills, CA 90210; open Monday- Friday; please call for hours: 310.860.7854
