Oh what–you think the holidays and all their soulful sentimental festivities are over?!? Aw heck no and take that! We’ll not engage any sort of war on Christmas-after-Christmas!  For, this coming Sunday, January 17th lovingly looms a post haste non-Festivus-for-the-best-in-us as the Los Angeles LGBT Center hosts a benefit replete with copious amounts of comedy rife with raffles and abundant silent auctions including prizes from The Grill on the Alley, INK, Jewelry and much, much more!

The live performance portion of the evening will include Chris Pierce, live DJ, and will be hosted by Shelby Stockton. The fundraiser itself was inspired by Debbie Malbon who lived an altruistic and compassionate life evident in her love of aiding and assisting teenagers. The benefit will take place beginning at 6:00 pm Sunday January 17th at The Dragonfly, 66510 Santa Monica Blvd.  (The name of the establishment alone makes one want to attend!)

All proceeds will benefit the LGBT Youth Center in Hollywood which affords guidance, garments, sponsorship and other services for homeless LGBT and Questioning youth.

The LGBT Youth Center’s prime goal is to foment a world wherein LGBT people flourish as vigorous, equal and whole members of society. It is a truly invaluable organization and one so imperatively needed in Hollywood!

About Jennifer K. Hugus

Jennifer K. Hugus was born at a very young age. At an even earlier age, she just knew she would one day write for the LA Beat! Having grown up in Massachusetts, France, and Denmark, she is a noted fan of Asian Cuisine. She studied ballet at the Royal Danish Ballet Theatre and acting at U.S.C. in their prestigious BFA drama program. She also makes her own jewelry out of paints and canvas when she isn’t working on writing absurdist plays and comparatively mainstream screenplays. Jennifer would like to be a KID when she grows up!
