Stuart Skversky (Executive Director/Founder Stu and the Kids) with Neal and Amy Fraser (Chefs/Owners of Redbird, Vibiana, BLD, Fritzi) will be hosting their third annual fundraiser Sunday, July 31, 2016, from 4pm until 8pm at Vibiana, one of the most beautiful event spaces in LA.
“In 2009, Stuart Skversky, a Los Angeles rising star chef, moved to Chiang Mai to become a full time volunteer at the Wat Dan Chan (the local Buddhist temple), teaching local children English, cooking and baking. Recognizing a need to help prepare these high risk Hill Tribe kids following their graduation, he founded Stu and the Kids to better prepare them for adulthood.” Last year the charity raised a record $52,000.
Joining Chef Neal Fraser at the Thai-inspired food and wine festival will be star chefs Eric Greenspan (Mare), Brooke Williamson and Nick Roberts (Playa Provisions), Akasha Richmond (Sambar), Gilberto Cetina (Chichen Itza), 2016 King of Porc Walter Manzke, (Republique) Ted Hopson (The Bellwether), Gary Menes (Le Comptoir), Jason Fullilove (Barbara Jean) and Jason Neroni (Rose Café).
During the evening hours, guests can enjoy activities and entertainment for all ages, including a vivid display of Northern Thai umbrellas, performances of Thai music and dancing, plus both a live and silent auction.
General Admission: $125. VIP Admission: $195 (includes early admission at 2:15 and special invitation to a cooking demo with the Culinary Ambassador to Thailand and Food Network star, Chef Jet Tila). To purchase tickets, visit StuandtheKidsTickets.
