Saturday, October 28 – You may find the assembled ghouls, hobgoblins and witches at the Halloween edition of Stand Up And Take Your Clothes Off are giving you a special feeling of one kind or another. That’s because every single one of them is dedicated to either making you laugh, turning you on, or getting you stoned. This regular get-together from the folks at Grassfed and The Art Of Edibles (check out our review of the May edition) and our interview with Tomer from Art of Edibles and To Whom It May chocolates) offers extensive sampling from their sponsors, vendors of flower, concentrates and various types of weed that can be eaten, while enjoying a procession of really rather good standup comedians, and really rather enticing burlesque dancers. VIPs take home a nice gift bag and sit right up front. LA Beat readers can take 10% off their ticket purchase by using the discount code GRASSFED10 when ordering tickets here.
Thursday, November 9 – Folks who want to help out the California farmers devastated by the recent wildfires – and considering pot farmers are routinely denied the protections available to others because they grow pot, they could really use your help – should check out Rise Together: A Fundraiser To Support the CalGrowers Wildfire Recovery Fund. There will be a “liquid nitrogen and live resin pairing” courtesy of Ry Pritchard from Viceland, sugar-free vegan treats from celebrity weed chef Chris Sayegh, live music, VR experience and more, at what appears to be a swanky private residence in the hills of Hollywood. Going VIP for this one is not cheap, but the premise in the invitation sounds like it will be worth it.
Saturday, November 11 – Mystic Journey Bookstore at 1624 Abbot Kinney in Venice will be hosting a free pop-up event titled Cannabis, Terpenes and Wellness from 1pm to 4pm, featuring a series of panels on cannabis health, including our pal Courtney Freeman from CannaKids (see our interview here). There will also be some terpene product sampling, massages by Apothecanna, and an opportunity to engage all the panelists. Register for free here.
