TODAY! Doo Dah Queen tryouts at the American Legion Post 280

Queen Imani Phoenix (Armond Anderson-Bell) of the 40th Occasional Pasadena Doo Dah Parade, East Pasadena, California, November 19, 2017.

Beginning at 2:00 p.m., potential Queens today will present a line-up of entertainment as they vie for judges’ favor to become the next Doo Dah Queen. This year’s 41st Occasional Pasadena Doo Dah Parade, a local spoof of The Tournament of Roses Parade will take place on Sunday, November 18, 2018, in East Pasadena.

Hopefuls will have three minutes to wow the judges and work the audience. Once chosen, out-going Queen Imani Phoenix will present the crown to the new reigning queen. Who are the judges? Well actually, you are. A few beers buys bribes and a right to vote and general hoopla and merriment curries favor, so go exercise your right to vote early and be heard … quite literally.

The event is massively fun with cheap food and drink, bands, dancing, a pool table and smoking patio, darts and a big screen TV.
