The National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS) and the Television Academy (ATAS) have done it again! Announcements for the Drama Performer Pre-Nominations for the 42nd Annual Emmy Awards were revealed this past Wednesday in preparation for the official March 26th unveiling.

The procedure followed to select the Pre-Nominated performers utilizes and online judging ballot comprised of the names of all candidates. Performer categories consist of Lead Actor and Actress and Supporting Actor and Actress in random order, irrespective of category and show affiliation.

Delivered to all certified and eligible peer judges, ballots include online clips highlighting the work of each actor and actress. Once viewed, each judge then selects their top 10 performer picks in each category.  It is interesting to note that there are 11 lead actors and 11 supporting actors entered so as to forestall any ties.

Once voting is completed, ballots are delivered directly to Lutz & Carr, a nonpartisan accounting firm, for tabulation. The following contenders who acquire the highest tally of votes will then move on to the Blue Ribbon Screening Round which will commence February 24th 2015. This will determine final nominees and recipients alike.  It is important to note that all artists in the Outstanding Younger Actor and Actress in a Drama Series category will move on automatically to the Blue Ribbon Round. All nominations will be officially announced Thursday March 26th!

The Pre-Nominees are listed subsequently in alphabetical order in the following six categories:

About Jennifer K. Hugus

Jennifer K. Hugus was born at a very young age. At an even earlier age, she just knew she would one day write for the LA Beat! Having grown up in Massachusetts, France, and Denmark, she is a noted fan of Asian Cuisine. She studied ballet at the Royal Danish Ballet Theatre and acting at U.S.C. in their prestigious BFA drama program. She also makes her own jewelry out of paints and canvas when she isn’t working on writing absurdist plays and comparatively mainstream screenplays. Jennifer would like to be a KID when she grows up!
